Information

The County Clerk & Recorder's Office preserves the records of the County and is responsible for the recording, and indexing of deeds, mortgages, surveys, mining work, resolutions, military discharges and various other documents, as well as files birth and death records, federal tax liens, notices of action, and realty transfer certificates.  This office also provides the following services: accurate and timely financial support services to public officials, departments, and the public in order to ensure efficient and effective use of county resources; reviews and processes claims, assists in budget preparation and budget management; maintains salary, payroll, and human resource information to ensure the county employees are paid accurately according to established procedures and law; attends the weekly Commissioner meeting and keeps the official minutes.

 

The Election Administrator is responsible for the administration of Federal, State, County, City, and special district elections in the County according to Federal and State elections laws. The office plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages all facets of the voter registration process in accordance with Montana Election Codes, and other applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations with administrative direction from the Montana Secretary of State.
