Flooding -Emergency Public Information

June 13, 2011

Creek and ground saturation flooding has occured in Pondera County, City of Conrad and Town of Valier.  We are currently gathering estimated damages on both individual homeowners and businesses.  Forms to report damages are available at the City offices in both Conrad and Valier and at the Clerk and Recorders office and DES office in the Pondera County Courthouse.

As of Friday both Pondera Creek and the Dry Fork have receded.  Lake Francis at Valier is full and Swift Dam was at 67% capacity as of Thursday night 6/23.

If you have had water in your basement the following link has good information on safe handling procedures.  http://www.msuextension.org/  click on Montana Flooding.
