The office of the Justice of the Peace is located on the top floor in the Courthouse.  Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - Noon and from 1:00 pm - 4:00 p.m.

Activities of the office include:

  • Civil jurisdiction actions, if the sum claimed does not exceed $7,000
  • Small claims actions for amounts not exceeding $3,000
  • Criminal jurisdiction for misdemeanors not exceeding $1,000 or 1 year incarceration
  • Fish and Game statutes
  • Concurrent jurisdiction with the District Court for misdemeanors
  • Examining and committing courts for preliminary hearings
  • Landlord-tenant disputes
  • Temporary restraining orders
  • Traffic citations

        Civil Actions - $30.00

        Small Claims - $15.00
