Junk
Vehicle Regulations and Information: Montana State Law requires that all automobiles and trucks classified
as junk vehicles must be screened from public view. A vehicle is considered a
"junk vehicle" by definition (sections 75-10-501 - 75-10-542, M.C.A.)
when:
- The
vehicle is discarded, ruined, wrecked, dismantled (including component
parts), or substantially changed in form by removal of parts or component
parts, and
- The
vehicle is not lawfully and currently licensed, and
- The
vehicle is inoperative or incapable of being driven in its present
condition.
The County offers to pick up
and dispose of junk vehicles at no charge. Our current hauler is the Pondera
County Road Crew – Mark Ghekiere 271-3613. Shielding must be permanent and approved by the Junk Vehicle
Program Director. Please contact this office for further information.
